Village Borac
Borac (Borač) is the old village located in the center of the colorful region called Sumadija, between two towns: Kragujevac and Gornji Milanovac. If you take the road from G. Milanovac to Kragujevac, after 15 km you’ll reach the place called Bare, and at the bottom of the valley you’ll see crossroad in T shape. You should turn right, and after about 10 km of pleasant ride through the wooded and beautiful landscape, you’ll arrive in Borac.
Borac is situated in the valley below the lovely crown of rocks in the middle of the valley. There is a path that leads to the top of the rock, and the view from there is amazing. There are the remains of ancient fort of which little is known. It is supposed that it dates from the Byzantium time, but it was completely finished by the Serbian monarchs from the dynasty of Nemanjic (XII – XIV century). In the village, hidden among the trees, lies an interesting church from the XIV century.
There are some other places a visitor can see in this area, like monastery Vraćevsnica, and the fishermen’s paradise - the Gruza lake. Manifestations like fox hunting in February and art colony "Gružanska Jesen" in September are worth a visit.
