Drina Canyon

 

River Drina is formed by the confluence of the Piva and Tara rivers of Montenegro. It flows through Bosnia and Herzegovina and at the town of Višegrad, the Drina receives the Rzav River and turns northwest at into the one of the most deepest gorge in the world. The gorge is 38 kilometers  long and up to 1 kilometer deep. This area is mostly protected and river presents border between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Deep gorges, numerous mountain peaks, view points are very interesting for hiking and as beauty spots.

Drina Canyon is completely inaccessible by land. There are tourist boats on the beach in Perucac lake. You can choose to join an organized tour, or rent a private boat to explore some of the most beautiful parts of the canyon which is just perfect for swimming or sun bathing.
