Churches and religious buildings in Novi Sad

The Name of Mary Church is the classical neo-gothic building from the late 19th century. The true gems are the stained glass windows devoted to Catholic saints, created by Czech and Hungarian craftsmen, and the colourful Zsolnay ceramics used for roof tiling.

The Orthodox Church of St. George from the mid 19th century has an iconostas with icons that are considered to be some of the best religious paintings. The Church and its interior are protected by law as a national cultural property of great importance.

The Jewish Synagogue, which dates back to the beginning of 20th century, no longer functions as a religious temple. It has been converted into a concert hall, where performances and concerts of classical, spiritual, ambience and ethno music, as well as choir concerts, are held in this building because of its superb acoustics.
