Kosovo

Since the 7th century, Kosovo has been inhabited almost by Serbs. In the 13. century it become part of Serbian state. Numerous monasteries remains as a memory on rich Serbian history in this region. Today Albanians are majority population, while Serbs are mainly located in the North of Kosovo. After war in 1999, Kosovo became occupied by NATO forces. On 17 February 2008., the Assembly of Kosovo approved a declaration of independence.
