Swamps and birdwatching

Among all habitats habitats, the swamp habitats are the richest with bird species. Only there birds can be seen in such a large number on small piece of land. About 170 bird species of the total of 400 European bird species are depending completely or partly of swamp habitats.

Bird watching is an active type of tourism that implies unpolluted earth and air, clean nature. Serbia is rich with habitats and numerous bird species, and some of them are rare and protected by law. The most significant bird habitats are Obedska and Carska Bara, canyon of Uvac, Gornje Podunavlje and the canyon of Ovcar and Kablar.
