Kovacica


Kovacica (serb. Kovačica) is predominantly Slovak village. Slovaks were settled here since the 18th century in order to protect Austria from Turks. Kovacica has become world famous and is marked on the world map as the center of naïve art. Zuzana Halupova and Martin Jonas are the most famous artist from Kovacica. Tourist can visit the Gallery of naive art and it has broadest range of art for selling.

Some kilometers from Kovacica, in Idvor village,was born Mihajlo Pupin, a word famous scientist, so thousands of young people visit his native house and museum collection.
